Nine-year-old girl dies after ‘lice infestation’; mother and grandmother arrested.

This case is one that revolts anyone with the facts presented, even more so when it involves an instance of mistreatment against an innocent child.
The case ended with the conviction of a 65-year-old grandmother and a 38-year-old mother after a 9-year-old girl died. The two were arrested for first-degree murder after mistreating the girl, who died as a result of a severe lice infestation.
The incident occurred in the state of Arizona, more specifically in Tucson, in the United States. The story was reported by the Daily Star, and it quickly outraged people who came across the sad situation in which this child lived.
According to reports, police arrived at the scene and found the girl unconscious in one of the rooms of the house. They tried to revive her but without success; her face and hair were covered in insects, which immediately caught the attention of the police.
Sandra, as the child’s mother was identified, said that the girl had been ill with fever and dizziness for a long time. The autopsy revealed malnutrition, resulting from an aggravated condition of lice in the victim.
Even though the situation dragged on for a long time, neither the mother nor the grandmother sought help. She ended up dying in these conditions, and both were arrested. See below for portraits of those responsible for the negligence.
